COURT ORDERS SONKO TO BE EXAMINED BY THREE GOVERNMENT DOCTORS

The Anticorruption court has ordered that Mike Sonko be examined by three government Doctors to ascertain his health status .
Presiding magistrate Douglas Ogoro said the three panel of Doctors through the prosecution should be able to file a medical report by 4th March.
The court made the decision after sonko failed to present himself to court as ordered and the special prosecutor Taibu Ali Taibu applies to court that apart from the medical report presented to court by Sonko’s Lawyers , Government Doctors should be given an opportunity to examine him.
The court directed that Sonko be escorted to Kenyatta National Hospital by February 19th.
He is currently admitted at the Nairobi hospital follows the order issued by a court sitting at kahawa.
During the hearing Sonko’s Lawyers , Dr John Khaminwa. Asah Nyakundi and Alfred Nyamu informed the court that Sonko’s absence is due to his illness and they prodigy medical report to the effect.
Despite being admitted he is also under police custody as ordered by another court. However the defense lawyers sought for an adjournment to allow him recuperate and be given medical health by the doctors who are attending him.
However the application for adjournment was opposed by the prosecution that no evidence has been shown to the court saying that he has caused himself not to attend court, caused confusion and filing several applications to delay the hearing of his case.
