“The fifthe sixthe and secventh respondents are also police officers at Kikuyu police station and on the material day they were at the reporting desk and they received the deceased who complained of injuries and also witnessed the deceased urinating blood in the police station toilet,” prosecution submitted.

The prosecution seeks to detain the suspects at Kabete, Muthangari and Riruta police stations to record further statements from witnesses particularly those in Kikuyu.

Court was told they could easily interfere with investigations.

“THAT, it is fair and just that this Honorable Court to grant the orders prayed so that the investigating officer may gather sufficient evidence on this matter including recording relevant witnesses statements, obtain treatment records from the hospital, obtain CCTV footage of the crime scene, call data records of the respondents, arrest of another suspect who is still at large,” court was told. The officer later succumbed to the injuries on March 21, 2024
