sh 21m fertiliser theft suspect charged

 

A man who fraudulently obtained subsidised Fertilizer worth ksh 21 million has been charged by Milimani court.

Benjamin Mobey, who was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina denied that on various days between 31th July and 6th October at various National Cereals and Produce Board(NCPB) he lied that he had 1050 acres of land where he was carrying out crop farming.

 

By lying about the size of his farm, Mobey managed to obtain 4304 bags of subsidised fertiliser worth 21 520 000 the market price was subsidised 10,760,000.

Magistrate directed the accused to be detained in custody pending his bail application today, hower the prosecution vehemently opposed Mobey’s release on bail.
