Nairobi County employee has pleaded guilty to the offence of soliciting bribes from a businessman to issue a reinnovation permit.
Albert Mbarani Mihadi, a clerical officer, appeared before the Anti-Corruption court’s Senior Principal Magistrate Eunice Nyutu, where he pleaded guilty in all six counts charges levelled against him.
Its alleged that on the 20th day of July 2020, Albert approached businessman Khilan Shah and requested a ksh 95000 bribe to assist him in obtaining a reinnovation permit from defunct Nairobi Metropolitan Service.
The accused was also charged with impersonating persons employed in public service, where he falsely presented himself as Nairobi County security enforcement officer.
The court documents averred that the accused, purportedly inspected compliance certificate for the same reinnovation permit.
Only took plea as his two co-accused were not present in court to take plea.
The offence was committed in Spring Valley area in Westlands Sub-county,Nairobi.
