Oraro gives evidence of stealing of title by former mp

senior counsel George Oraro today was in the witness dock over the transfer of land documents.

 oraro  who is a witness was giving evidence in  a case where  former MP for Laikipia Anthony Mutahi  Kimaru  is charged with with stealing a title of land  valued at shs 18.5 m 

  the land in dispute belonging to the late
 mutahi allegedly bought the land from the late Livia le Poer Trench who unfortunately passed on  before she transferred the land to the accused.  in his testimony today Oraro told Chief Magistrate  Ben  Ochoi that he could be appointed and executioner of the estate of the late together with Dr David Morton Silverstein.
 in his testimony when being close examined by Nganga Mbugua who appears for the accused, why as an executioner he didn’t find it fit to transfer the land to the accused as he had completed the payment, oraro said he could not transfer  the land  as there was still another civil matter going on the the nyeri high could ,
    the senior counsel was in pains to explain why he recorded his testimony one year after the accused was charged  .  the  senior lawyer was also asked why he never reported the matter to the police  or dci.
 Kimaru was accused of stealing the title deed of the land in Nanyuki township belonging to George Odinga and David Mortons Silverstein who are the executors of the late Livia Le Poer Trench, a British settler.

He allegedly committed the offence in August 2016 at the Ministry of Lands headquarters in Nairobi.

Kimaru also accused  of fraudulently making an agreement of sale of yet another parcel of land still in Nanyuki township dated August 3, 2009.

The the former MP is alleged to have also uttered the agreement of sale to one Silas Kimeli, the deputy registrar of the High Court in Nyeri.

He is out on a cash bail of Ksh.300,000 or a bond of Ksh.1 million.
