NAIROBI MCA JAILED FOR THREE YEARS , DECLARED UNFIT TO HOLD PUBLIC OFFICE, LOOSES SEAT

Nairobi Anti-Corruption court has today convicted a Nairobi MCA for an offense of corruptly receiving a bribe
Meanwhile Two members  of Nairobi county assembly who  were charged with conspiracy to commit an offense of corruption by demanding shs 1 m from a Nairobi businessman have been acquitted.
Jared okoth of mathare north ward and samwel Njihia mwangi of woodley ward  were found not guilty  to the charge of conspiracy after the prosecution failed to adduce evidence to effect. Trial magistrate Thomas Nzioka  found and held that the two did not demand money from

Samuel kiragu the proprietor of Kiragu waichahi school which institution they were investigating as members of the county assembly.
However their colleague David Mberia of Karen ward was found guilty for an offense of receiving a bribe of shillings two hundred thousand
According to the evidence mberia received treated money at oil  Libya petrol station along Mombasa road , the money was found in his jacket and had been given out by officers from Ethics and Anti-Corruption commission.
Further evidence from the prosecution  the court said  that mberia was captured from a revorded video demanding a bribe of three hundred thousand , he was however given two hundred thousand.
