MILIMANI COURT ISSUES WARRANT OF ARREST AGAINST THREE POLICE OFFICERS CHARGED FOR AIDING A SUSPECT TO ESCAPE FROM LAWFUL CUSTODY
The nairobi Chief magistrate’s court has issued warrants of arrest againt three police officers charged with aiding a suspect held at kamukunji police station to escape from lawful custody .
The trio , copral vacity chebet Kemeres , constable Stephen Akum ochieng and PC Elias Koome mungaria failed to turn up for a mention of their criminal case , and the prosecution consequently applied for their arrest.
They are out on a cash cash bail of shs 50,000 or deposit a bond of shs 200, 000 plus one surity each, the presiding magistrate Muthoni Nzibe issued summons against the OCS and ordered the matter to be mentioned on july 7th .
The prosecution told the trial court that on 13th may 2020 at Kamukunji policestation they jointly with others not before court , aided one Martin Wasike a Ugandan national who to escape from lawful custody , wasike had and two had been charged with offense of kidnapping constable Abel Misati.
The court heard that the victim (misati) is said to have disappeared on January 11th and his whereabouts have not been established according to kamkunji OCS Samir Yunus and family lawyer Alfred Nyandieka.
When the accused were charged the court ordered that they be reporting to DCIO kamukunji every Thursday.
