A man has been charged before a Nairobi court with multiple counts of burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony involving the theft of computers and laptops valued at over Ksh 74 million.
The accused pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Robinson Warui Mureithi appeared before Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi, where he faced four counts of conspiracy and burglary allegedly committed at Tembo Building in Nairobi’s Central Business District on the night of October 15 and 16, 2025.
In the first and second counts, Mureithi is accused of conspiring with others not before court to break into Angeltech Computers and steal laptops and computers worth Ksh 73,717,400, the property of businessman Robinson Ngeh Koshi.
In the third and fourth counts, he is accused of breaking into SES ICT Hub within the same building and stealing electronics worth Ksh 770,500, belonging to Shadrack Mbugua Kuria.
Through his lawyer, Mureithi told the court that he was arrested at his home and was not a flight risk, adding that he was willing to comply with any conditions imposed to ensure his attendance in court.
He urged the court to be lenient in granting bail, noting that he had a fixed abode and was cooperative during arrest.
The prosecution did not oppose the bail application but asked the court to consider the gravity of the offences and the large amount of money involved.
Magistrate Ekhubi granted Mureithi a bond of Ksh 5 million with one surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of Ksh 2 million, with two contact persons.
The case will be mentioned on November 19, 2025 for pre-trial
