Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwere has threatened to take legal action against three Kakamega-based bloggers for allegedly spreading false information linking him to the disappearance of a school principal.

Through his lawyer, Danstan Omari, the legislator has issued formal demand notices to George Opunga Tamata, Peter Amunya, and Simon Asievela.

The three are accused of publishing claims suggesting that the MP was behind a road accident involving Simon Isiaho Shange, the principal of Munyuki High School, and his subsequent disappearance.

According to the letters dated between November 7 and 8, Nabwere has given the bloggers twelve hours to delete all the defamatory posts from their online platforms, including Malava Online and Kakamega Post.

He is also demanding a public apology and KSh 20 million as compensation for the alleged damage to his reputation.

“Our client maintains that your statements are false, misleading, and maliciously intended to tarnish his good name and public image,” the letters state in part. “These publications are politically driven and meant to paint him in bad light.”

Omari added that Nabwere shared a cordial relationship with the missing principal and has been committed to equitable resource distribution in Lugari Constituency. He dismissed the bloggers’ allegations as baseless and politically instigated.

The dispute arises from a road accident that occurred on November 3 along the Eldoret-Malaba Highway, involving the Munyuki High School principal, who later went missing under unclear circumstances.
