Kevin Kangethe who is wanted inthe US for allegedly killing Margaret Mbitu has been detained for 30 days pending investigations.
The court senior principe magistrate Zainabu Abdul ordered the suspect to be detained Muthaiga police station noted that there was no objection to the ODPP application and thale seriousness of the offence.
The court was told to hat Kangethe allegedly killed the woman last year in October .
Further the DPP told the court that there several applications to be made including that of extradition to the US so as to face murder charged.
“There being no objection and owing to the fact that DPP wants to extradite the suspect and the seriousness of this matter the accused is hereby detained at ..Muthaiga police station.matter to be mentioned on 4th of March,”ruled magistrate Zainab Abdul
DCI further claims that the suspect and the deceased were both residents of Massachusettes and are alleged to be in relationship.
They claim that preliminary investigations Kangethe violently attached and repeatedly stabbed the lady on the face and neck area causing catastrophic injuries that led to her death
Further the suspect when he returned into the country he went into hiding where he allegedly kept constant communication using various telephone numbers with his friends back inthe US and a few of his family and friends here in Kenya
