Former Lamu Senator Anuar Loititip has been charged at Nairobi Milimani court for obtaining money with false pretence.
The former legislator appeared before Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and denied all three counts of charges, including obtaining money with false pretence and uttering false documents.
It is alleged that on the 3rd day of August 2022 at unspecified place within the republic of Kenya E-x Senator without lawful authority or excuse, it made a motor vehicle registration certificate serial number K4240950P and presented as a genuine motor vehicle certificate issued by National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
Anuar, who was unrepresented, pleaded with court for lenient bond terms saying that he was going through hard economic times
He also pleaded with the court to give him a chance to settle the dispute with the complainant whom he claimed to be his friend.
The court ordered the accused to be released on cash bail of ksh 700000 or a bond of ksh 1 million and surerity of similar amount.
The matter will be mentioned on 30th November for pretrial directions
