COURT TO VISIT AFRICAN SPIRIT LIQOUR FACTORY OWNED BY HUMPHREY KARIUKI

Nairobi chief magistrates court will visit   Humprey Kariuki’ African Spirits liquor  factory located in Thika Town for purposes of correcting evidence at the scene of crime.

Trial magistrate Martha Mutuku while delivering a ruling ,allowed the application by the accused persons saying the court needs to familiarize with the scene in which kariuki and his co accused claim that the factory has been vandalized since ot was closed on 31st January 2020.
The court also took issue with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for failing to disclose evidence to the accused to allow them prepare for defense.
Kariuki’s lawyers Kioko Kilukumi  and Cecil Millers wants the Director of Public Prosection. To give reasons why he terminated proceedings against one of company’s Director  steward Gerald .
The lawyers want the Dpp to explain which evidence he relied upon in removing Gerald from the case.
The site visit will take place on April 28th .29t and 30th .
Kariuki has not visited the factory for three years. After the closure the the DCI sealed sthe factory and since yhen so many incidents have happened which the accused persons wants to know.
The court said there will be no prejudice to be suffered if the visit is allowed.
Karijki and his co accused were last yea acquitted in one of the files after the court was informed that the DPP had not supplied evidence or exhibits in a period of one year.
