Court releases an illegal gas filling convict to pursue appeal

Nairobi  court has released  a convicted  illegal  gas dealer on bail.

Senior principal  magistrate esther kimilu  allowed an application  by Adan Hassan  to be granted time to appeal  a decision by the hgh ordering to pay shs 10million or serve 5 years i i jail .
Through his lawyer julius Anyoka  ,he told the court that his right were violated since he was not given time to be heard during the miscellaneous  application
The ordered him to deposit a cash bail of sha two million cash or an alternative  bond of five million shillings
Hassan  was arraigned  for sentencing  pursuant  high court after being  rearrested on January 26th

He has been  convicted  with an offence  of illegally  refilling  liquid  petroleum  gas cylinders without  authority  of brand owners to refill  contrary  to  section  99(1) (m) of the petroleum  gas regulations  and section 13(a) of the petroleum gas regulations  as read with Section  99(ii) of the petroleum Act 2019.

Hassan  is accused   that at City Fas limited  lpg  and filling facility located off lunga lungaroad in industrial  area within nairobi county jointly with others was found to have filled assorted  brand of LPG cylinders withouth authority  from brand owners
The matther will be mention on 25th april to confirm the progress  of  the appeal .
