The rosecution counsel took the former mp to task over a balance of shs 8.5m which owed
In his defense before nairobi chief Magistrate. Bernard Ochoi, the former legislature said he paid all the requisite fees amounting to 18.5m and heas given a title which used to make the transfer of the alleged land parcel
Kimaru who was charged in january 2021 was defending himself in case where the Chief magistrate Benard Ochoi ruled that he had a case to answer.
In his defense the former Legislature was accused of stealing the title deed of parcel LR. 10422/13 Nanyuki township belonging to George Odinga and David Silverstein, the executors of the late Livia Lepoer Trench the mp said there was no way he could be given the titgle for transfer if he had not cleared fees for the same.
The former lawmaker allegedly committed the offence on August 5, 2016, at the Ministry of Lands headquarters in Nairobi
He is further accused of procuring the registration of the land by falsely pretending that it had been lawfully transferred to him by the executors.
Kimaru is represented by lawyer George mbugua while the complainants are represented by Michael Amalemba
Tha case will be mentioned on8th august to fix a date for judgement.
Kimaru is out pn a cash bail of shs 300,000
